  1. I tried the short-rise method on a baking sheet and the pizza came out delicious! I didn’t expect to replicate that buttery, crisp-yet-soft crust of Dewey’s (which I did not come close to), but it is still a great recipe. From someone who moved away from the midwest and still dreams of a Socrate’s Revenge pie – thank you!

  2. Always a hit! We’ve been doing make your own pizza night for over a year with this recipe. I use my dough hook on the kitchen aid and it’s so easy! I also use SAF Yeast that doesn’t need proofing so I just throw it all in and run for 8 minutes. Sometimes I do it a few days in advance and sometimes it’s same day. No matter what everyone loves it! Thanks for sharing this great recipe (especially for those of us who now live out of state and can’t enjoy Dewey’s any more).

    • A little taste of Dewey’s on the west coast 🙂 Thanks for the tip on the yeast!
I love a flexible recipe that can done when we have the time and baked one day or in a few days.
