This dessert is super simple. It screams flavor, healthy, simplicity, and summer. You might even have the stuff in your kitchen now to make it! Other ideas for this dessert: include some lemon zest when making your shortcakes and then put this on shortcakes instead of plain strawberries, serve with fresh whipped cream, or… cool whip (but Trader Joe’s makes one without hydrogenated crap, House Whip!).
Strawberry Lemon Dessert
yield 6-8 servings
1 lb. strawberries
2 tsp. sugar
1. Take the strawberries and hull and slice them into a medium bowl.
2. Zest the lemon into the strawberries. Cut the lemon in half and put the juice in the strawberries as well.
3. Sprinkle sugar on top. Gently stir and store in the fridge for at least an hour before serving.
