Chocolate Cookies

Ooey Gooey Chocolate Cookies

Have a Happy New Years Everyone!!!!

These cookies are like a chocolate ooey gooey butter cake, but in chocolate cookie form.  And since most people outside St. Louis knows what I am talking about, just make the chocolate cookies!  Simple, pretty, gooey and a favorite of chocolate lovers.  Even a small kid could whip these up pretty easily!

Ooey Gooey Chocolate Cookies
yield about 30 cookies

1 stick of butter (4 oz.)
1 – 8oz. package of cream cheese, room temperature  (I prefer Philadelphia brand, though here the smoothness might not matter.)
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 box (18 oz) chocolate cake mix
powdered sugar

1.   Using the paddle attachment, beat together the cream cheese and butter until smooth.  Add the egg until incorporated.
2.  On low, dump in the vanilla and chocolate cake mix. Stir until combined.  Fridge for at least 2 hours or overnight.
3.  Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Rolls dough into tablespoon size balls.  Roll ball in powdered sugar.  Bake for 12 minutes.  Cool. Dust more powdered sugar on top.

Recipe from Paula Dean  (well of course it is.  the first ingredient is the clue!)
